Don't Nod, the acclaimed French studio behind Life is Strange, has just launched the first chapter of their latest narrative-driven experience. Gamers can now immerse themselves in "Tape 1," with "Tape 2" set to be available at no extra cost to all purchasers starting April 15.

Announced back in 2023, this game delves into the unsettling story of a tight-knit group of friends who were mysteriously separated during the summer of 1995. Fast forward 27 years, and the lingering shadows of that fateful summer resurface, unleashing unforeseen and chilling repercussions.

Crafting a compelling mix of nostalgia and psychological thriller, the game draws inspiration from classics like It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer. Don't Nod has decided to release the game in two distinct segments, titled "Bloom" and "Rage." As of February 18, players can only access the first half of this eerie narrative.

The eagerly anticipated second installment, known as "The Tape," is scheduled for release on April 15. Initially planned for a March launch, the delay was implemented to guarantee a more refined final product.

With the review embargo now lifted, OpenCritic has revealed an average critic score of 74/100, indicating a promising debut for this enthralling mystery game.
