Marvel Rivals, the acclaimed hero shooter, is a smash hit on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, NetEase, the developer, has ruled out a Nintendo Switch release due to performance limitations. But what about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2?

Recently, at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, we spoke with Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu. He revealed that a Switch 2 port is a definite possibility. Wu stated, "We're already in contact with Nintendo and working on some development kits. If we can deliver a high-quality experience on the Switch 2, we're absolutely open to it. The original Switch couldn't handle the game's demands, but if the Switch 2 meets our performance targets, we'll consider it."

PlayThe Nintendo Switch 2 was officially unveiled last month. While specifics are scarce, it's expected to be a more powerful and enhanced console. Intriguingly, it seems to incorporate mouse-like controls, potentially offering a more PC-like shooter experience. However, the precise implementation remains unclear.

The Switch 2's release date is still under wraps, but a Nintendo Direct is scheduled for April 2nd. Marvel Rivals is currently available on other platforms, and we highly recommend it. Our 8/10 review praised the game, stating it "might closely resemble other hero shooters, but it's well-positioned to become the genre's leading title." The Human Torch and The Thing are slated to join the roster on February 21st.
