Bullseye's Mechanics

Bullseye is a 3-cost, 3-power card with the ability: "Activate: Discard all 1-cost or less cards from your hand. Afflict that many different enemy cards with -2 Power."

Crucially, the effect targets different enemy cards. This limits its impact; you can't repeatedly debuff a single high-power card. His effectiveness hinges on discarding low-cost cards and spreading the -2 power debuff across multiple enemy cards. Luke Cage directly counters this effect. Optimal play involves activating Bullseye before the final turn to maximize his impact. Synergies exist with cards like X-23, Hawkeye (Kate Bishop), and Swarm (especially when discounted).

Top Bullseye Decks

Bullseye shines in discard-oriented decks, rather than dedicated Bullseye-centric strategies. Two prominent archetypes incorporate him effectively:

Discard Variant:

  • Scorn
  • X-23
  • Blade
  • Hawkeye (Kate Bishop)
  • Swarm
  • Colleen Wing
  • Bullseye
  • Dracula
  • Proxima Midnight
  • MODOK
  • Apocalypse

This deck utilizes standard discard mechanics, with Bullseye as a powerful debuff engine. Activating Bullseye after playing MODOK on turn 5 allows for widespread debuffing, synergizing with Scorn, X-23, Blade, and discounted Swarms. Dracula and Apocalypse provide late-game power. Hawkeye (Kate Bishop) is arguably replaceable with a card like Gambit. Scorn and Proxima Midnight are essential components.

Hazmat/Ajax Variant (High-Cost):

  • Silver Sable
  • Nebula
  • Hydra Bob
  • Hazmat
  • Hawkeye (Kate Bishop)
  • U.S. Agent
  • Luke Cage
  • Bullseye
  • Rocket Raccoon & Groot
  • Anti-Venom
  • Man-Thing
  • Ajax

This high-cost deck leverages Bullseye's synergy with several cards to act as a secondary Hazmat effect. The goal is to cripple the opponent with Hazmat while securing lanes with U.S. Agent or Man-Thing and Ajax. Bullseye debuffs Silver Sable, Nebula, Hydra Bob, Hawkeye (Kate Bishop)'s arrows, and the 0-cost Anti-Venom, boosting Ajax's potential. Hydra Bob is potentially replaceable with another 1-cost card. This deck's viability against Red Guardian-centric strategies remains to be seen.

Is Bullseye Worth the Investment?

Bullseye's value is subjective and depends on your playstyle and existing card pool. If you dislike discard or affliction strategies, or already prioritize cards like Moonstone and Aries, he may not be a worthwhile investment. His niche role and reliance on specific deck archetypes make him a less attractive option compared to more versatile cards.
