Mask Around: The Sequel to Mask Up Delivers More Gooey Action!
Following the 2020 release of the unique roguelike platformer, Mask Up, developer Rouli returns with Mask Around, a sequel that expands on the original's bizarre formula. Remember that yellow ooze? It's back, along with some surprising new gameplay twists.
While Mask Up focused primarily on 2D brawling, Mask Around introduces 2D shooting mechanics. Players can now seamlessly switch between gunning down enemies and using their goo-based abilities to smash opponents. However, the precious yellow ooze remains a limited resource, requiring careful management, especially during challenging boss encounters.
Strategic Goo Management
Mask Around, currently available on Google Play (with no iOS release announced yet), represents a significant evolution from its predecessor. It retains the core gameplay of Mask Up but adds substantial depth. Players must now strategically decide when to utilize their goo powers, balancing them with their weaponry. The improved graphics also enhance the overall experience.
The game cleverly combines resource management with combat strategy, forcing players to think tactically beyond simply maintaining their goo supply.
