Capcom's Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase today provided an exciting glimpse into the future of this beloved series, with a spotlight on the upcoming Title Update 1 and more. Scheduled for release on April 4, 2025, this free update promises to enhance the gameplay experience for all Monster Hunter Wilds players. Alongside the update, a mix of free and paid DLC will be available, bringing new armor, cosmetics, and fearsome monsters into the fray. The anticipation for what's coming next is palpable, and we're eager to hear which part of the update you're most excited about.
A New Hub For Hunters --------------------- The showcase kicked off with a detailed look at the new endgame hub for hunting parties, known as the Grand Hub. This area is packed with new activities to enjoy, from feasting together and arm wrestling to enjoying nighttime performances by the Diva. The addition of a Barrel Bowling mini-game, where you can earn vouchers and rewards, adds a fun twist to the social aspect of the game. To unlock the Grand Hub, players must reach Hunter Rank 16 and speak to Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord.
Mizutsune Arrives
One of the major highlights of Title Update 1 is the arrival of the Mizutsune, a bubbly monster known for its swift tail strikes and powerful water jets. Players at Hunter Rank 21 or above can encounter Mizutsune in the Scarlet Forest by speaking to Kanya for the quest. This addition not only brings a thrilling new challenge but also introduces new gear that can be crafted from the hunt.
Additional Hunts on the Way
The update will also feature a new Event Quest introducing Arch-tempered Rey Dau, a formidable opponent that promises a challenging battle for those at Hunter Rank 50 or above. Additionally, players will have the opportunity to re-fight Zoh Shia through new quests, also available at HR 50, with the chance to craft new armor from this iconic monster.
Arena Quests
Speedrun enthusiasts will find a new challenge in the form of Arena Quests, where hunters can compete for the fastest clear times. Both Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests will be available, with rewards such as pendants for participation and achievement. These can be accessed through the counter in the Grand Hub.
Change Alma's Outfit
Alma, one of the game's hardest-working handlers, is getting some much-deserved attention with new cosmetic options. Players can now change Alma's attire through an appearance menu at camp, with a free outfit available after completing a specific side mission. Additionally, you can customize Alma's glasses for a more personalized look.
More DLC is on the way
Alongside Title Update 1, a variety of free and paid DLC will be released. Classic gestures from previous Monster Hunter games will be available for free, while the Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 and other items can be purchased in the store or are included with the Cosmetic DLC Pass or Premium Deluxe Edition. Expect new stickers, outfits for Alma, and more to enhance your Monster Hunter Wilds experience.
More Event Quests and Seasonal Events
Further enriching the game, more Event Quests and Seasonal Events are planned. These events will transform the Grand Hub's appearance and introduce unique meals. Limited equipment, gestures, decorations, and other exclusive items will be available during these special periods. The Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, starting April 23, will feature pink cherry blossoms and new decor. Capcom has also confirmed the return of most previously available events and Event Quests.
The Roadmap Ahead
Title Update 1 is set to roll out on April 3 for U.S. players, followed by the Blossomdance on April 22. The challenging Arch-tempered Rey Dau will arrive on April 29, and by the end of May, additional features and a Capcom collaboration will be introduced.
Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2
The showcase concluded with a tantalizing tease of Title Update 2, expected this summer. While no specific date was announced, a glimpse of the long-awaited monster Lagiacrus, known as the underwater leviathan, hints at exciting battles to come.
