A dataminer for Mortal Kombat 1 has uncovered compelling evidence suggesting the violent fighting game will introduce Hara-Kiri Fatalities as Quitalities.
Redditor InfiniteNightZ shared a video showcasing what appear to be Hara-Kiri Fatalities in Mortal Kombat 1. The Hara-Kiri finisher, which debuted in 2004's Mortal Kombat: Deception, involves the losing player performing a self-inflicted Fatality.

Interestingly, InfiniteNightZ discovered Hara-Kiri animations for recent DLC characters like Ghostface, bolstering speculation that these will be included in a future Mortal Kombat 1 update instead of being scrapped. 'After seeing them added to the downloadable roster, I believe it's highly possible,' InfiniteNightZ commented.
InfiniteNightZ further speculated that the Hara-Kiri animations might be implemented as Quitalities, based on their references in the game's code. Quitalities are rapid finishers that activate when a player quits a multiplayer match, a feature present in earlier series entries. 'They are listed as Quitalities, so there's still hope,' InfiniteNightZ remarked about the animations.
Following InfiniteNightZ's discovery, prominent Mortal Kombat 1 dataminer Interloko uncovered additional Hara-Kiri animations.

Here are two more missing from the video, indicating that only Omniman and Conan lack one.
I haven't attempted to trigger it in-game because I'm busy finalizing aspects of my own game's demo https://t.co/TqBKyauY0G pic.twitter.com/hL4QzLRXwf
Of course, these findings might lead nowhere, and it's important to note that neither NetherRealm nor publisher Warner Bros. Games has officially announced Quitalities for Mortal Kombat 1.
Mortal Kombat 1 recently saw a resurgence thanks to a secret fight featuring Floyd, the pink ninja, and community efforts to decipher his unlock conditions. Meanwhile, Mortal Kombat 1 fans have the T-1000 guest character to anticipate, and potentially more DLC to come, although NetherRealm has yet to confirm that.
