NetherRealm Studios unleashes T-1000 and Madam Bo in Mortal Kombat 1 DLC.

A new gameplay trailer showcases the T-1000, featuring the voice and likeness of Robert Patrick, reprising his role from Terminator 2. His moveset incorporates liquid metal transformations and brutal attacks reminiscent of Baraka, Kabal, and even Killer Instinct's Glacius. A highlight is a Fatality that reimagines the iconic Terminator 2 truck chase scene.

Simultaneously, NetherRealm surprised fans by announcing Madam Bo, a popular character from the base game's story, as a new Kameo fighter. Brief glimpses of her in-game action are shown in the trailer.

The T-1000 becomes available March 18th for early access (Khaos Reigns owners), with general release on March 25th. Madam Bo arrives on March 18th as a free update for Khaos Reigns owners or a separate purchase.

The T-1000 concludes the Khaos Reigns DLC character roster, following Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, and Conan the Barbarian. Speculation about a potential Kombat Pack 3 continues, fueled by Warner Bros. Discovery's commitment to the Mortal Kombat franchise and NetherRealm's previous alternating releases between Mortal Kombat and Injustice titles.

Madam Bo joins the Mortal Kombat 1 roster as a Kameo fighter.

While NetherRealm's next project remains unannounced, Ed Boon has confirmed continued support for Mortal Kombat 1 and that the Injustice franchise isn't closed off. Previous statements cite the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to Unreal Engine 4 as factors influencing the decision to develop another Mortal Kombat game before returning to Injustice.
