After escaping Fort Joy and removing your Source collar in Divinity: Original Sin 2, you'll find yourself aboard the Elven ship, Lady Vengeance. To set sail, you'll need to navigate the ship's unique mechanics, which don't involve the traditional helm. This guide will help you through the steps to get the Lady Vengeance moving.

Investigate Dead Bodies On The Ship

Your journey to get the Lady Vengeance sailing begins with a puzzle. Start by examining the magister and gheist bodies on the ship's deck. Among these, you'll find a Sodden Diary on a dead magister, which contains the password needed to unlock a crucial door in the ship's cabin. Additionally, you can obtain the password to the Stateroom Door by passing a skill check at the northern Stateroom Door.

To interact with the Portside Stateroom door, you'll need a Strange Gem. This gem can be found by exploring further.

A magic mirror located just south of the stateroom doors allows you to respec your character and companions. If you need to pass a skill check to persuade the second stateroom door, use the mirror to reallocate your ability points accordingly.

Find The Portside Stateroom Door In The Ship's Quarters

With the password secured, head to the ship's quarters. Here, take the opportunity to interact with NPCs and potentially recruit new companions. To the west, you'll find an unconscious Bishop Alexander wearing a Source collar. Examine his simple Regalia closely to find the Strange Gem and add it to your inventory.

Return to the east where the Stateroom doors are located. Interact with the southern door, which will recognize the Strange Gem in your possession. Use the password "Fortitude," learned from the Sodden Diary, to unlock the door. This grants you access to Magister Dallis' cabin, where you'll find the next item essential for solving the puzzle.

Be cautious of a hidden hatch in Dallis' cabin that contains two deadly gheists and a Teleportation Prism.

Finding The Ancient Empire Songbook To Get The Ship Moving

Inside Magister Dallis' cabin, you'll meet Tarquin. Before exploring, exhaust all dialogue options with Dallis. The cabin is small, making it easy to locate the Ancient Empire Songbook on a central pedestal. Reading it will prompt your character to comment on its cryptic text.

Before moving the ship, ensure you've spoken to all NPCs, as you won't have another chance once the ship sets sail.

Getting The Ship Moving

With the song learned, return to the ship's deck and inform Malady of your discovery. She'll instruct you to sing the song to the ship. Head to the west side of the deck to find the dragon figurine. Interact with it and choose to sing the song. The Lady Vengeance will respond, and you can now set sail for your next adventure.

Be prepared for an immediate ambush by powerful magisters after the ship starts moving, ensuring your party is well-equipped and includes enough companions to face the challenge.
