A Kindling Forest, a fresh addition to the gaming world, comes from the creative mind of Dennis Berndtsson, a solo developer and high-school teacher. This side-scrolling auto-runner is packed with action, adventure, and innovative mechanics, set against a backdrop of forests, arrows, and fiery lava.
What’s the Story of A Kindling Forest?
The narrative unfolds with an ancient demon unleashing chaos upon the world. In response, forest spirits revive an archer from the past, equipping him with a bow and a mission to vanquish the demon. However, A Kindling Forest is anything but a straightforward journey.
In this game, you're always on the move as the screen continuously scrolls, presenting you with various shards—sharp, hazardous obstacles that appear in diverse shapes and patterns. Your options? Dodge them or take them down with your arrows.
Your arrows are more than just weapons; they embody the forest spirits aiding your quest. Running out of arrows means game over, so every shot must be strategic and precise.
Navigating through A Kindling Forest's five levels, each progressively more chaotic, you'll encounter challenges like jumping over spiders, teleporting to ancient ruins, soaring above clouds, and navigating through lava. Checkpoints serve as crucial lifelines, allowing you to restart and refine your strategies.
The game's unique mechanic involves your phone's screen being split into two sections: one for jumping and the other for shooting. Timing is critical, and the game even offers a slow-motion feature when aiming, giving you the precious seconds needed to align your shots perfectly.
