Square Enix Announced NieR 15th Anniversary Special Novel
Square Enix marked NieR's 15th anniversary with a series of announcements during a livestream on April 19. Among the highlights was the introduction of the NieR online special novel, titled [U]ndecided Option. This novel will be released in three parts, with the first installment already available. Subsequent updates are scheduled for April 25 and May 2. The narrative follows a 'servant' who encounters a mysterious boy with an enigmatic aura, embarking on a guided journey.
In addition to the novel, Square Enix launched a dedicated 15th Anniversary website, serving as the central hub for the online novel and other upcoming projects and events related to the anniversary celebration.
Exhibition, Concerts, Merchandise, and More
Square Enix is set to host an exhibition at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, Japan, showcasing new artwork featuring protagonists from NieR: Replicant, NieR: Automata, and NieR Re[in]carnation. Details on tickets and other information will be released soon.
Music enthusiasts can look forward to additional performances of the NieR: Orchestra Concert 12024 in Osaka on July 25 and 26, and in Tokyo on August 2 and 3. Tickets are available through a lottery system, with more information accessible on the concert's official website.

Starting April 28, NieR Re[in]carnation, the franchise's first mobile title, will launch a developer blog series. Monthly updates throughout the year will provide insights into the development process of Re[in]carnation. Originally released in January 2021, the game was discontinued in April 2024 due to monetization challenges. The introduction of a developer blog has sparked speculation about a potential sequel or remake, though no official announcements have been made.
