NieR: Automata Resource Management: Farming Dented Plates
While some materials are plentiful in NieR: Automata, the sheer number needed for weapon upgrades can quickly deplete even the most common resources. Dented Plates, a frequently required upgrade component, are no exception. This guide outlines efficient farming strategies to amass the necessary quantities.
Optimal Farming Locations for Dented Plates
Dented Plates are commonly dropped by:
- Small Biped (all variants)
- Small Flyer (all variants)
- Small Sphere (all variants)
These basic enemies are prevalent throughout the game. However, relying solely on random encounters isn't the most efficient method.
The Adam Pit Method (High Efficiency):
The most efficient location is the pit where you first encounter Adam in the main story.
- Fast travel to the Desert: Housing Complex access point.
- Proceed deeper into the ruins.
- Descend to the pit.
Here, enemies continuously respawn, providing a consistent supply of Small Bipeds, the primary Dented Plate source. Even lower-level enemies in this area offer a decent drop rate. This location is also beneficial for Titanium Alloy farming.
Forest Kingdom Alternative (Diverse Farming):
For a less concentrated, more varied approach:
The Forest Kingdom features numerous groups of spear-wielding Bipeds. These groups typically drop at least one Dented Plate. Exploring the forest also provides opportunities to acquire Beast Hide. Higher-level Bipeds found later in the game yield a higher Dented Plate drop rate.
Equipment Enhancement:
Consider equipping drop-rate enhancing plug-in chips to further boost your yield. Remember to avoid death, as this permanently loses your equipped chips.
