The latest installment in the Oceanhorn series, Chronos Dungeon, marks a bold evolution from its predecessors. Departing from the 3D visuals of earlier titles, the game embraces a nostalgic top-down perspective with pixelated art design, channeling the spirit of classic 16-bit arcade adventures.
What’s the Story in Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon?
The once-great White City has vanished, consumed by time and the encroaching sea. In its wake, the Uncharted Sea is dotted with fragmented islands, remnants of a lost civilization. Amid these ruins, four brave adventurers embark on a quest driven by legend and forgotten magic.
Their goal? The Chronos Dungeon—a mysterious, ever-changing labyrinth buried beneath the world. Deep within its shifting halls lies the Paradigm Hourglass, an ancient relic capable of rewriting history itself.
But the path is treacherous. The dungeon evolves with each playthrough, featuring procedurally generated floors that ensure no two runs are alike. Adding another layer of depth, the heroes are influenced by zodiac signs, which impact their abilities and progression.
Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon features four distinct classes: Knight, Huntress, Grandmaster, and Mage. Players can seamlessly switch between them, adapting their strategy on the fly.
Designed as a co-op multiplayer experience supporting up to four players, the game also allows solo players to control all four heroes. If a teammate drops out during online play, others can instantly take over their characters, ensuring the adventure never skips a beat.
