Omori Cancels Switch and PS4 Physical Release in EuropeMeridiem Games, Omori's European publisher, has announced the cancellation of the game's physical release for Switch and PS4 in Europe. This decision, attributed to technical challenges related to multilingual European localization, has left many fans disappointed.

Omori's European Physical Release Cancellation

A Series of Delays Leading to Cancellation

The Spanish publisher, Meridiem Games, revealed the cancellation via a Twitter (X) post, citing technical difficulties with the localization process. While a user inquired about the specifics of these difficulties, the publisher declined to provide further details beyond their initial statement.

Initial listings on retailers like Amazon indicated a March 2023 release date. However, subsequent delays pushed the release to December 2023, then March 2024, and finally to January 2025, before the ultimate cancellation. Pre-order customers received email notifications from Amazon regarding each postponement.

This news is a significant blow to fans, particularly given that this would have been the first official release of the game in Spanish and other European languages. While European players can still obtain physical copies of Omori for Switch and PS4, they must import them from regions like the US.
