Palworld 0.5.0 Update: Crossplay, Blueprints, Photo Mode Added

Author : Sophia May 07,2025

Palworld's latest update, version 0.5.0, introduces an array of exciting new features, including crossplay across all platforms. This means players on different devices can now enjoy the game together, enhancing the social aspect of the experience.

One of the standout additions is the Global Palbox, allowing players to store their Pal data and transfer Pals between different worlds seamlessly. Additionally, the Dimensional Pal Storage system has been introduced, boasting a capacity ten times larger than the regular Palbox. This new storage can be accessed by guild members and can also be set to private for personal use.

Players can now enjoy a new Cosmetic Armour System, accessible via the Antique Dresser. This system allows you to change your character's appearance without affecting their armor stats, offering a fresh way to customize your look in the game. Alongside this, a new Photo Mode has been added, accessible through the Pal Command Wheel, enabling players to take stunning screenshots by hiding the UI and freely moving the camera.

The update also introduces a Drafting Table, where players can combine low-rarity blueprints to create higher-rarity ones, adding a strategic element to crafting. Dedicated servers for Mac users have been implemented, ensuring a smoother experience for those on Apple devices.

In terms of specification adjustments, buildings can now be placed even if they overlap with a Pal, and foundations or roofs will automatically align when connected. Assigning an Ice Pal to the Flea Market will slow down item decay, and torches have been added at the entrances of random dungeons for better visibility. Players can now sit on chairs and cushions, and some weapons that previously dealt ultra-high damage to trees will no longer drop items upon destruction. New NPCs have been added, and existing NPC behavior during conversations has been improved.

Balance adjustments include changes to elemental chest rewards, with Dog Coins now always dropping and a small chance of containing work suitability books. The EXP gained from defeating the Attack Chopper has been increased, as has the DPS of Flamethrowers. Adjustments have been made to the default attacks of Electric and Dark Pals, and some human NPCs now have work suitability and work animations when assigned tasks at a base. Summoned raid bosses can no longer damage other bases, and the Water attribute has been added to Dumud. NPC event rewards have been adjusted, with all conversation logs reset to allow players to claim rewards again.

UI enhancements include the categorization of favorites into three groups, the ability to continuously increase or decrease values in the Pal Soul Enhancement UI, a new sorting option for the Pal Box by Work Suitability Level, an "Extra Large" text size option, and the addition of Fullscreen Mode. Several new achievements have also been added to the game.

Numerous bug fixes have been implemented, addressing issues such as players being launched into space while climbing, getting stunned over water while riding a flying Pal, and various other gameplay and server-related problems.

Developer Pocketpair has announced that they are working on adding dedicated servers for the PlayStation 5 version, which will be released in the future. Since its early access launch in January 2024, Palworld has attracted an incredible 32 million players. The studio has laid out a content roadmap for 2025, which includes an "ending scenario" and more new content for the popular creature-catching survival game.

Palworld launched on Steam for $30 and was immediately available on Game Pass for Xbox and PC, breaking sales and concurrent player number records. The game's massive success led Pocketpair to sign a deal with Sony to form Palworld Entertainment, tasked with expanding the IP and launching the game on PS5.

However, the game faces a lawsuit from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, who allege that Palworld has infringed on multiple patent rights. Pocketpair has provided an update on the situation, identifying the patents in question and making adjustments to how players summon Pals in response. The studio has vowed to defend its position in court against Nintendo and The Pokémon Company.
