People Can Fly, renowned for developing Bulletstorm and co-developing Gears of War: E-Day, has entered into a new agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment. This deal is for the development of a new game, codenamed Project Delta, which will be crafted as a work-for-hire project. Details about Project Delta remain under wraps, leaving fans curious about what's in store.
Currently, People Can Fly is juggling multiple projects, each with its own codename. Among them is Project Gemini, developed in collaboration with Square Enix, which faced a setback with the layoff of 30 developers last year. Another project, Project Echo, is being worked on with Krafton, while Project Red is also believed to be linked with Sony. The studio recently announced that Project Bison, their VR endeavor, would be their last venture into virtual reality.
In recent months, People Can Fly has made some tough decisions. Last December, the studio paused work on Project Victoria and scaled down Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, they canceled Project Dagger, which was slated to be an action-adventure game in partnership with Take-Two Interactive.
Despite these changes, People Can Fly remains busy with a total of eight known projects in development. This includes the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, developed in partnership with The Coalition, though a release date for this title has yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Project Gemini, their collaboration with Square Enix, is expected to hit the market in 2026.
