Guns Undarkness Demo Arrives at Steam Next Fest

The highly anticipated Guns Undarkness will launch a free demo during the upcoming Steam Next Fest. This exciting project features the talents of Shoji Meguro (Persona series and Metaphor: ReFantazio composer), Ilya Kuvshinov (Ghost in the Shell character artist), and rapper Lotus Juice (known for his work on Persona 3).

Meguro, a veteran composer at Atlus since 1995, has contributed to iconic titles like Shin Megami Tensei and the Persona series. He transitioned to independent game development in 2021, while continuing collaborations with Atlus. Guns Undarkness, a sci-fi stealth action JRPG, will be published by Kodansha Game Creators Lab.

Initially unveiled at Indie Live Expo Winter 2021, Guns Undarkness successfully completed its Kickstarter campaign in 2022, exceeding its funding goals.

The free demo will be available during Steam Next Fest, starting February 24th, 2025. Early Access for the full game is planned for later this year.

Metal Gear Solid and Persona Inspired Gameplay

Guns Undarkness blends turn-based tactical JRPG combat with stealth mechanics, drawing inspiration from Metal Gear Solid and the Persona series. Set in a dystopian 2045, players assume the role of a private military company operative, undertaking missions with allies to unravel global mysteries and fight for humanity's survival.

Gameplay seamlessly integrates stealth sections, allowing players to navigate environments undetected, gaining a significant advantage in subsequent turn-based battles. Engage in strategic combat using a variety of firearms and character commands.

The demo offers approximately 20 minutes of gameplay, including a tutorial covering controls, combat, weapons, and early-game strategies. The Early Access release, anticipated for Spring 2025, will provide around 10 hours of gameplay on PC. A precise release date is yet to be announced.
