The PlayStation Portal has always maintained its original price point, but there's still an opportunity to save by opting for a pre-owned model. Currently, Amazon Resale (formerly known as Amazon Warehouse) offers Used: Like New PlayStation Portals for just $150.23, including shipping. This represents a significant 25% discount compared to its $199 retail price. While a Sony warranty may or may not accompany the purchase, Amazon Resale products enjoy the same 30-day return policy as new items. Given its popularity, this deal is likely to sell out swiftly.
Update: The price has dropped to $150.23, marking the lowest price we’ve seen for a Used: Like New unit.

The PS Portal, Sony’s handheld gaming companion for the PS5 console, closely resembles an extended DualSense controller with an 8-inch 1080p LCD screen at its center. It transforms your PS5 into a portable gaming device by enabling streamed gameplay at up to 60fps. Featuring the same functionalities as the DualSense, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, it replaces the touchpad with a touchscreen interface. The Portal supports streaming games remotely, provided you have access to a stable, high-speed internet connection. Note that the PS Portal is not a standalone gadget—it’s designed exclusively for streaming PS5 games.
Update: Streaming games directly from the PS5 is no longer necessary. By introducing a feature that connects the Portal to its cloud streaming service, Sony now allows users to stream over 120 games, including titles like Ghost of Tsushima and Resident Evil 3 Remake, via PlayStation Plus subscription. Subscription costs $18 monthly, making it far more cost-effective than purchasing individual games.
It’s important to mention that the PlayStation Portal isn’t the sole method for streaming PS5 games over Wi-Fi. Using the PS Remote Play app on compatible devices, including the Steam Deck, achieves similar results. However, setting it up is more complex, and some DualSense features may not be supported.
PlayStation Portal Review by Seth Macy
“The PlayStation Portal exceeded my expectations, surpassing my initial skepticism. It offers a superior experience compared to using a phone with a clip-on controller and performs better than anticipated. Its ability to let me play my PS5 from anywhere with reliable Wi-Fi is liberating, especially when others are hogging the TV. Despite requiring a PS5 to function, the Portal’s limitations lie in its inability to connect to password-protected Wi-Fi networks and its lack of Bluetooth audio support. Excluding these minor drawbacks, it’s an excellent tool for remote PS5 gameplay, and had it not been for these oversights, it would be an essential purchase for every PS5 owner.”

Sterling Silver, Volcanic Red, and Cobalt Blue models are available for $54 each, with free shipping after applying the coupon code "PLAY5." This is likely the final chance to secure a DualSense controller at this price, particularly in striking metallic finishes.
