A new Mass Outbreak event is slithering its way into Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, celebrating the Year of the Snake! This limited-time event boosts the appearance rate of Silicobra, Ekans, and Seviper, significantly increasing the chances of encountering their Shiny variants.
The event, running from January 9th to 12th, offers a heightened Shiny encounter rate of 0.5% before any additional multipliers are applied. Trainers can further enhance their odds by crafting Shiny Sandwiches. For Ekans and Seviper, a Salty or Spicy Herba Mystica combined with a Green Bell Pepper is recommended; for Silicobra, substitute the pepper with Ham.
This Snakelike Mass Outbreak follows the recent Shiny Rayquaza Tera raid event, a fitting end to the Year of the Dragon. Silicobra outbreaks will blanket the Paldea region, Ekans will infest Kitakami, and Seviper will slither into the Terarium. Pokémon levels will range from 10 to 65, depending on game progress. Access the event via the in-game Poke Portal, selecting "Get Poke Portal News" after connecting to the internet.
While the event celebrates the Year of the Snake, the future of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet remains uncertain, particularly with the anticipated launch of Pokémon Legends: Z-A in 2025. The Pokémon Company's plans for the game throughout the year are yet to be revealed.
