Pokémon GO's 8th Anniversary Celebration is almost here! Get ready for a week of exciting events starting Friday, June 28th at 10:00 a.m. and lasting until Wednesday, July 3rd at 8:00 p.m. This anniversary promises new Pokémon debuts, boosted event bonuses, and enhanced raid and trading opportunities.
What's Happening?
Prepare for Pokémon in party attire! Grimer and Muk will be sporting festive hats, with a chance to encounter a Shiny Grimer. Meltan also makes a shiny return when using the Mystery Box during the event.
Increased chances of becoming Lucky Friends and obtaining Lucky Pokémon from trades await! Friendship levels will increase rapidly through gift opening, trading, and battling. You might even discover 8 or 88 Gimmighoul Coins when spinning PokéStops with a Golden Lure Module.
Special bonuses add to the celebration! Enjoy:
- June 28th-29th: Half Egg Hatch Distance.
- June 30th-July 1st: Double XP for catching Pokémon.
- July 2nd-3rd: Double Stardust for catches.
One-star raids offer a heightened chance of catching shiny, festively-dressed Pokémon. Event-themed Field Research tasks will reward encounters with partner Pokémon like Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, Mudkip, and others. Mega Energy for Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Sceptile, Blaziken, and Swampert will also be available.
