What's the Pokémon GO Safari Ball?
Longtime Pokémon fans will recognize Safari Zones from the main series games. These special areas allow capturing rare Pokémon without battling – a feature Niantic is recreating with the Wild Area event.
Pokémon GO hasn't introduced many new Poké Balls. We're familiar with the standard Poké Ball, Great Ball, Ultra Ball, Premier Balls, and the coveted Master Ball. The Safari Ball joins this lineup.
The Wild Area event runs globally from November 23rd to November 24th, 2024, concluding at 6:15 pm local time. Important note: Unused Safari Balls vanish from your inventory after the event ends.
During the event, the Safari Ball becomes your primary tool for catching powerful Pokémon. Niantic's decision to introduce the Safari Ball during a new event, rather than existing Safari Zone or City Safari events, adds an intriguing twist.
