Pokémon GO's New Year's Celebration: A Festive Extravaganza!
Get ready to celebrate the start of 2025 in Pokémon GO! The annual New Year's event returns, bringing with it themed bonuses, special Pokémon encounters, and exciting challenges, running from December 30th, 2024 to January 1st, 2025.
Following the Community Day event (December 21st-22nd, featuring returning Community Day Pokémon), prepare for a week of New Year's festivities!
This year's event offers a fantastic opportunity to boost your XP. Earn a whopping 2,025 XP for each Pokémon caught with an Excellent Throw! Immerse yourself in the celebratory atmosphere, complete with festive fireworks and decorations.
Expect increased encounters with special, costumed Pokémon! Keep an eye out for Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (sporting a party hat), and their Shiny variants.
Raids are also getting a festive makeover. One-star raids feature a snowflake-hatted Pikachu, while three-star raids bring party-hat-wearing Raticate and Wobbuffet. Shiny rates are boosted for all three!
Complete Field Research and Timed Research tasks for additional Pokémon encounters and rewards. A paid Timed Research ($2) offers exclusive rewards, including three Premium Battle Passes, three Lucky Eggs, 2,025 Stardust, and encounters with event Pokémon.
