In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, early side quests in Tachov and Zhelejov offer a choice between aiding Prochek or Olbram. This guide clarifies whether you can help both and which choice is preferable.
Can You Help Both?
While Tachov and Zhelejov are rivals, cleverly navigating the "Mice" and "Frogs" quests allows completion of most tasks for both Prochek and Olbram. This reveals more backstory, though a fully favorable outcome for both isn't possible.
Prochek vs. Olbram: Which to Choose?
Ultimately, choosing between Prochek and Olbram makes little difference in terms of overall game progression. Both aim to sabotage the other; the choice depends on personal preference for the tasks.
Olbram's task involves a nighttime stealth operation to steal the Zhelejov maypole, requiring you to distract a guard. Prochek's task is to paint Olbram's bull blue, demanding dye from the tailor and a lullaby potion recipe from Radovan.
Prochek's quest might be slightly more challenging early in the game, potentially requiring higher Speech skills or sufficient groschen.
Prochek's "Mice" Quest:
Speak to Prochek in Tachov (or the innkeeper if he's unavailable). This initiates the quest.
Obtaining Dye and Lullaby Potion:
Purchase dye from Bartoshek the tailor in Troskowitz. The lullaby potion recipe (requiring oil, poppy, and thistle) can be obtained by working for Radovan or through persuasion. Gather herbs near the Troskowitz apothecary. Brew the potion, then use it on the bull in Zhelejov and paint it. Report back to Prochek.
Olbram's "Frogs" Quest:
Find Olbram near the Zhelejov meadow. Agree to steal the Tachov maypole at night.
Stealing the Maypole:
Approach the maypole in Tachov. You can either knock out the guard, Henrik, or, with high Speech, persuade him to leave by arranging a date with Manka. After he leaves, chop down the maypole and return to Olbram. He'll then request you chase sheep from a Tachov pasture and deliver a digestive potion to Alshik. You can choose to complete this or inform Prochek, ending both quests.
