It’s become a tradition for popular esports game developers to make major announcements just before the grand finals of their world championships. Ubisoft, in keeping with this tradition, and with Rainbow Six Siege entering its tenth year, delivered a significant reveal.
Ubisoft announced Siege X, a substantial upgrade to Rainbow Six Siege. Developers clarified it's not a sequel, but far more than a simple update. Think of the relationship between Counter-Strike 2 and Global Offensive – a massive overhaul that feels like a new game, yet preserves all player progress and data.
Further details will be unveiled during a special three-hour presentation on March 13th, featuring a live audience in Atlanta. To commemorate Rainbow Six Siege’s ten-year anniversary, Ubisoft also released a celebratory pack offering legendary skins from the game's earliest seasons – a comprehensive collection of classic cosmetics.
