Golden Globe Win for Reznor and Ross Boosts Anticipation for Intergalactic Soundtrack

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, the composers behind the soundtrack for Naughty Dog's upcoming title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, have added another accolade to their impressive resume: a Golden Globe for Best Original Score. Their award-winning work graces Luca Guadagnino's film, Challengers.

The recent Intergalactic trailer showcased a preview of Reznor and Ross's composition, alongside licensed tracks featured in the game. Known for their extensive collaboration with Nine Inch Nails and acclaimed scores for films directed by David Fincher and Pete Docter, the duo previously won an Academy Award for The Social Network and Soul, along with numerous Grammys, an Emmy, and a BAFTA. Reznor's previous experience in video game soundtracks includes Quake (1996) and the main title theme for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Accepting the Golden Globe for Challengers, Ross described the score as "never…a safe choice, but it always felt like the right one." The contemporary electronic music perfectly complements the film's edgy athleticism and sensuality. Given their current creative peak, the Intergalactic soundtrack is poised to be a standout.

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross's Golden Globe Win

The pairing of Nine Inch Nails' industrial rock pioneers with contemporary gaming and film might seem unexpected, yet Reznor and Ross consistently demonstrate versatility. Their work ranges from the haunting soundscapes of The Social Network to the ethereal beauty of Soul, and now the enigmatic atmosphere of Naughty Dog's space exploration title. With online speculation suggesting horror elements in Intergalactic, the choice of Reznor and Ross as composers seems particularly fitting.

The Golden Globe win further amplifies the anticipation surrounding Intergalactic, potentially a significant departure for Naughty Dog. Given their flawless track record, the soundtrack promises an exceptional auditory experience, regardless of the game's final form.
