Rockstar Releases Anniversary Update for Bully After Six Years

Rockstar, the masterminds behind the GTA series, have just released an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile platforms. After a six-year hiatus, this update brings a fresh wave of excitement to fans. It's worth noting that this update is exclusively for mobile devices and won't be available on consoles or PCs.

Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!

The Bully: Anniversary Edition update introduces new languages and emphasizes on enhancing the game's stability and fixing bugs. A notable change is the temporary disabling of Friends Challenges.

For Android users with compatible devices, the update enables Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO), improving the visual experience. Additionally, the app icon has been updated, and haptic feedback has been added to both Android and iOS platforms.

Several mission-specific issues have been resolved, including the infamous 'That Bitch' mission where Mandy’s locker was previously unpickable, 'Weed Killer' which wouldn't progress if the window was broken too soon, and 'The Rumble' where police cars used to glitch through the floor.

The update also addresses gameplay issues, such as enemies not attacking Jimmy, which made fights feel unbalanced, and various crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.

What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?

The fanbase has been vocal about their desire for a Bully 2, yet Rockstar appears to have different priorities. Rumors suggest that a sequel was in development during the 2010s but was ultimately shelved in favor of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online.

With GTA 6 on the horizon, the chances of seeing Bully 2 seem slim, especially since many of the original developers have moved on from Rockstar. While this update isn't a full remaster or a sequel, it's a significant upgrade for mobile players.

If you're new to Bully, it's essentially Rockstar's spin on a schoolyard sandbox game. You step into the shoes of Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old rebel navigating the trials and tribulations of Bullworth Academy. The game is packed with Rockstar's signature humor and open-world shenanigans.

You can grab Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store for €7.99, and it comes with full gamepad support.
