PUBG Mobile Esports World Cup: 12 Teams Remain!

The first stage of the PUBG Mobile Esports World Cup (EWC), held as part of the Gamers8 festival in Saudi Arabia, has concluded. The initial 24 teams have been whittled down to a final 12, setting the stage for an exciting final showdown.

This weekend's intense competition saw some teams eliminated, while others secured their place in the fight for a share of the $3 million prize pool. For those unfamiliar with the EWC, it's a Gamers8 spin-off designed to bring major esports titles to Saudi Arabia, with PUBG Mobile being a key participant.

Currently, Alliance leads the pack. The remaining 12 teams will enjoy a brief respite before the final stage commences from July 27th to 28th.

Global Impact

While the long-term impact of the PUBG Mobile World Cup on fan engagement remains to be seen, the event has certainly generated significant buzz. However, it's worth noting that this isn't the largest event on the PUBG Mobile esports calendar, and upcoming competitions might overshadow its impact.

The 12 eliminated teams will have another chance to compete for two coveted spots in the main event during the Survival Stage, taking place July 23rd and 24th. This promises to be a highly competitive and suspenseful event.
