Genshin Impact Leak Suggests Wriothesley Rerun in Version 5.4
A recent leak hints at a potential Wriothesley rerun in Genshin Impact Version 5.4, marking over a year since his initial appearance in the Fortress of Meropide. This highlights the ongoing challenge Genshin Impact faces in balancing its vast roster of over 90 playable characters with the limited rerun slots available on Event Banners. With an average of one new 5-star character per update, providing annual reruns for all 43 limited 5-star characters within the 27 available banner slots proves nearly impossible.
While the Chronicled Banner aimed to alleviate this issue, many players consider it a temporary solution rather than a long-term fix. Shenhe's extended wait time of over 600 days before her rerun in Version 5.3 exemplifies this problem. Until the introduction of triple banners, extended waits between character reruns are likely to persist.
Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst introduced in Version 4.1, hasn't been featured since November 8, 2023. His absence is notable given his effective Burnmelt team compositions. According to leaker Flying Flame, this will change with Version 5.4.
Potential Wriothesley Banner in Version 5.4
It's crucial to approach Flying Flame's leaks with caution, given their mixed track record. While they accurately predicted the Version 5.3 Chronicled Banner, other leaks proved inaccurate. However, the recent Spiral Abyss buff does favor Wriothesley's playstyle, lending some credibility to the rumor.
Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If both Mizuki and Wriothesley are part of the Event Banners, the remaining 5-star slots would likely feature either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive sequential reruns. Version 5.4's launch is projected for February 12, 2025.
