Rumor: Nintendo Switch 2 Logo Leaked

A purported Nintendo Switch 2 logo has surfaced online, potentially confirming the console's official name. Rumors and leaks surrounding Nintendo's next-generation console have been circulating since early 2024, when President Shuntaro Furukawa acknowledged its existence. A pre-March 2025 unveiling is anticipated, with a launch later in the year.

The timing of the console's release has been a subject of much speculation since Furukawa's May 2024 announcement. While Nintendo has remained tight-lipped, the prevailing assumption is that the new system will indeed be called the Nintendo Switch 2. Many believe the design will closely resemble the original Switch, lending credence to a direct sequel branding strategy.

According to Comicbook, a purported Switch 2 logo has emerged online. Shared on Bluesky by Necro Felipe, editor-in-chief of Universo Nintendo, the logo closely mirrors the original Switch logo, featuring a stylized Joy-Con above the "Nintendo Switch" text. The key difference is the addition of a "2" next to the Joy-Con, seemingly confirming the widely used "Nintendo Switch 2" moniker.

The "Switch 2" Name: Confirmation or Speculation?

The logo's authenticity remains unverified, and some question whether "Nintendo Switch 2" is the final name. Nintendo's history includes consoles with significantly different names from their predecessors (e.g., the Wii U), leading some to believe they might opt for a more unconventional approach this time. The less-than-stellar sales of the Wii U, partly attributed to its name, might influence a more straightforward naming convention for the Switch 2.

Previous leaks appear to corroborate the logo and name shared by Necro Felipe. However, gamers should treat all current rumors with caution until an official announcement. Recent social media activity hints at a potentially imminent reveal, suggesting the wait for official confirmation might be shorter than expected.
