Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Boasts Ultra-Slim Design

Author : Zoey Feb 09,2026

Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge as its new flagship smartphone during its May Unpacked event. While it shares many similarities with the standard Galaxy S25 released earlier this year, its sleek, thinner profile aims to give it a distinct edge in the market.

On paper, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is strikingly similar to the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It packs the same Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and a comparable 200MP primary camera. The key differentiator is the chassis, which has been refined to a remarkably slim 5.8mm thickness, down from the 8.2mm found on the Ultra model. This slender design also contributes to a lighter overall weight of just 163 grams.

Despite sharing core specifications with the larger 6.9-inch Galaxy S25 Ultra, the Edge model features a 6.7-inch AMOLED 2X display, identical to the standard Galaxy S25.

With such a large, thin form factor, durability is a primary consideration. Samsung asserts it has bolstered strength by upgrading to the new Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, which is claimed to be more resilient than the Gorilla Glass Armor 2 used on the Ultra. However, the greater concern for many users may be its resistance to bending when placed in a pocket, rather than just its drop performance—hopefully avoiding any new "bendgate" controversy.

The Galaxy S25 Edge also inherits the full suite of "Mobile AI" tools first introduced with last year's Galaxy S24 and enhanced throughout 2025. The Snapdragon 8 Elite chip enables significant on-device AI processing, enhancing privacy, though many third-party AI applications will still rely on cloud connectivity. Notably, Samsung includes several convenient features, such as the ability to summarize notifications and news articles at a glance.

Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge begin today. Pricing starts at $1,099 for the 256GB variant and $1,219 for the 512GB model. It will be available in three color finishes: Titanium Silver, Titanium Jet Black, and Titanium Icyblue.

Samsung is making a strong case for the durability of this slender device—time will tell if that confidence is well-placed.
