Sonic Rumble has yet to make its global debut, but it's already making waves with its inaugural crossover event, dubbed Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars. This exciting event is currently live and will run until May 7th, just ahead of the game's worldwide launch on May 8th.
Currently in soft launch, Sonic Rumble is accessible in over 40 countries. It had its first pre-launch phase in Summer 2024, debuting in regions such as the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia. The second pre-launch phase extended to Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa, and other regions.
What’s in Store?
If you're located in a region where Sonic Rumble soft-launched last year, you're in for a treat with the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover. The Altered Beast crew makes a comeback, offering the Werewolf transformation for free.
For fans of the classic beast modes, you can now get the Werebear and Weredragon, though their acquisition methods differ. The Weredragon is available through the Premium Pass, while the Werebear can be purchased with regular rings.
The crossover also brings in some Fantasy Zone charm with Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa joining the fray. Opa-Opa is part of the Premium Pass, while Upa-Upa can be obtained via fragments, which cost 700 standard rings each.
AiAi and MeeMee from Super Monkey Ball have also joined the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover. To get AiAi, you'll need to spend 729 Red Star Rings. Below, you can catch a glimpse of the crossover event:

During the event, you can collect SEGA logos in matches to earn additional rewards. Although it might seem unusual for the event to be active before the global release, SEGA has reassured players that most of these pre-release rewards will be available again later.
The first crossover event of Sonic Rumble, diving into SEGA's rich history, is a thrilling prospect. The mix of monkeys, sentient arcade ships, and transformed warriors interacting with Sonic and his friends hints at the exciting potential of Sonic Rumble.
