Sonic Rumble announces exclusive pre-launch crossover event
Sega Legends Collide Before Global Release
Ahead of its worldwide launch on May 8th, Sonic Rumble is kicking off its first special event featuring iconic Sega franchises. Rather than external collaborations, this crossover brings together memorable characters from Sega's rich gaming history.
In an unusual move, this limited-time event begins during the game's soft launch period, running from today until May 7th. Players in supported regions can claim the Werewolf character – inspired by the arcade classic Altered Beast – completely free.
Sega Star Event Pass subscribers gain access to additional premium characters, including Altered Beast's Weredragon and Opa-Opa from Fantasy Zone, Sega's original arcade mascot.

Additional Characters Available Through Shops
The crossover event expands further with exclusive characters purchasable through in-game shops:
- Ring Shop offers Fantasy Zone's Upa-Upa and Altered Beast's Werebear
- Red Star Ring Shop features Super Monkey Ball favorites AiAi and MeeMee
This unprecedented pre-release event signals Sega's ambitious plans for Sonic Rumble. The company has confirmed this marks just the beginning of a full schedule featuring numerous crossovers and collaborations planned throughout the game's lifecycle.
