Zenless Zone Zero is set to excite its fans by bringing back previously released S-Rank agents in Version 1.5, starting with Ellen Joe and Qingyi. Unlike HoYoverse's other major games, Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero has not yet implemented rerun banners, focusing instead on introducing new agents with each update. Many fans had hoped that the much-anticipated Version 1.4 update would introduce rerun banners, following the model of Genshin Impact, but that did not happen. However, HoYoverse has now confirmed that Zenless Zone Zero will introduce reruns starting with Version 1.5.
With Version 1.5, players who missed out on earlier agents or have recently started playing will have the opportunity to obtain previously released characters. The Version 1.5 Special Program revealed that Phase 1 will commence on January 22, featuring the Ether agent Astra Yao alongside a rerun banner for Ellen Joe, who debuted in Version 1.1. Additionally, Ellen's Agent Story will be added in this update.

Version 1.5 will follow the pattern of previous updates with two phases, the second starting on February 12 with new banners. During Phase 2, Zenless Zone Zero will introduce Evelyn Chevalier and bring back the PubSec Agent, Qingyi, who was initially available in the second half of Version 1.1. Both reruns will also include their specific W-Engines, allowing players to fully equip their characters with signature gear.
The Version 1.5 special program also confirmed rumors about new character outfits. HoYoverse revealed that three new outfits will be available: "Chandelier" for Astra, "On Campus" for Ellen, and "Cunning Cutie" for Nicole. Notably, the "Cunning Cutie" outfit for Nicole will be free to claim as a reward from the Day of Brilliant Wishes limited-time event.
