Star Wars: Hunters, despite its impending shutdown, will have the chance to celebrate its one-year anniversary before closing its doors for good. But the question remains: is it worth celebrating the anniversary of a game on its last legs? It's a bittersweet moment, marking both a milestone and an end.
When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?
The servers for Star Wars: Hunters are set to go offline on October 1st, 2025, concluding the game's run after just nine months. Players have until then to wrap up their adventures, with Season 5 ending on April 15th. Zynga, the game's developer and publisher, is rolling out a final content update on the same day, introducing Tuya, a new Support Hunter, available for free. In-game purchases will be disabled on April 15th as well.Ranked Mode will keep running until the servers shut down, and events from the current season will be repeated. It's crucial for players to use any unspent Crystals, as no refunds will be issued.
It Isn’t Shocking
The shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters might not come as a surprise to many. The game faced numerous delays since its announcement in 2020, with beta tests limited to the SEA and ANZAC regions. The lack of major console support and a tepid reception at launch contributed to its downfall. From a design perspective, the game missed an opportunity by not leveraging the rich universe of Star Wars. Instead of iconic characters, it opted for generic original ones, which may have disappointed fans hoping to see their favorite heroes and villains in action.
If you've uninstalled the game but are curious for one last playthrough, Star Wars: Hunters remains available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown date.
