The mobile gaming sensation, Monopoly Go, is set to captivate fans with an exciting collaboration with the iconic Star Wars franchise. Announced at the Star Wars Celebration in Japan, this partnership will run from May 1 to July 2, drawing inspiration from the beloved Skywalker Saga and the thrilling series, The Mandalorian.
During the Star Wars season on Monopoly Go, players can look forward to seeing their favorite Star Wars characters transformed into adorable cartoon versions. The season will introduce a Star Wars Go sticker album for players to complete, along with the chance to participate in podracing at the Mos Espa Grand Arena. Collectible in-game items such as tokens, shields, and emojis will also be available. Imagine the delight of seeing Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Han Solo, R2D2, Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, and Qui-Gon Jinn mingling with Mr. Monopoly, also known as Rich Uncle Pennybags.
This isn't the first time Monopoly Go has ventured into crossover territory. Last September, the game featured a Marvel-themed event, where characters like Spider-Man, Wolverine, and the Avengers joined the Monopoly universe.
In other news, publisher Scopely has recently expanded its portfolio by acquiring the teams behind Pokémon GO, Pikmin Bloom, and Monster Hunter Now from Niantic, signaling a significant move in the mobile gaming industry.
