"Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Receives Last Major Update"

Summary

  • Rocksteady releases the final major content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
  • Season 4 Episode 8 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
  • Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's servers will remain online, but no new content will be developed after the January 14 patch.

Rocksteady Studios, the developer behind Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, has released Season 4 Episode 8, marking the final major content update for this live-service game. Despite its initial launch in February 2024 receiving largely negative feedback, Rocksteady announced less than a year later that it would cease support for the game following the January 14 patch. This final update is now available for download on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

The introduction of unexpected live-service elements in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is widely considered to have contributed to its rapid decline. Just ten months after its release, Rocksteady confirmed on December 9, 2024, that Season 4 Episode 8 would be the last chapter of the game. Despite this, all online features will continue to function, allowing players to enjoy the game with friends.

Following a brief period of server maintenance, Rocksteady has successfully deployed the concluding content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. With servers back online, players across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC can now dive into Season 4 Episode 8: Balance. This update introduces an Infamy Set inspired by the DC Super-Villain Libra, a selection of powerful Notorious weapons, and a new Mayhem mission that serves as the ultimate confrontation with Brainiac. Additionally, the patch includes crucial bug fixes and gameplay adjustments, such as a reduction in XP requirements for Squad Levels.

Although the game's servers will continue to operate post-Season 4 Episode 8, players can also enjoy Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League offline, thanks to the offline mode introduced in the Season 4 Episode 7 update in December. This feature allows access to the main campaign and all seasonal story missions without an internet connection. While Rocksteady has not announced a complete shutdown of the game's servers, the offline mode ensures continued playability if servers are ever taken offline.

For those yet to experience this DC anti-hero adventure, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is now available on PlayStation Plus until February 3. Subscribers can also grab The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Patch Notes for Season 4 Episode 8 Update

MEDIEVAL GENIUS

Embark on a deeper exploration of the medieval Elseworld in Episode 8: Balance, encountering new twists on familiar locations and venturing into new territories. Challenge yourself at The Quarry, a fortified citadel that must be conquered to defeat the tyrant Brainiac. The Arena offers a venue for jousting tournaments and interdimensional battles, while the statues of King Jor-El and Queen Lara Lor-Van evoke the era's chivalry and honor.

LIBRA INFAMY SET

The Infamy Set for Episode 8 draws inspiration from Libra, a formidable DC Super-Villain fixated on balance. His set applies stacks of Scales of Libra to enemies, increasing both their damage output and vulnerability by 50% per stack. This set fosters a high-risk, high-reward strategy, promoting a dynamic and bold approach to gameplay.

NOTORIOUS WEAPONS

Complementing Libra’s Infamy Set are The Silencer’s Complete Silence weapons, which deliver a 200% damage bonus to enemies affected by Scales of Libra. The Alt-Fire mode unleashes 1,000% bonus damage and creates a Silencer Zone at the impact point, reducing enemy damage output by 100% within the zone, making it an excellent crowd control tool.

Doctor Sivana’s Magic Bullets excel in rapid enemy elimination, with bullets that pierce through foes, apply Scales of Libra, and have a chance to electrify targets. Strategic positioning can maximize the devastating impact of this weapon.

Chronos’ Equilibrium pushes the glass cannon playstyle to its limits, granting a 25% damage boost for every 1% of missing Shield. This encourages a thrilling yet risky combat style that keeps you in the thick of the action.

GAMEPLAY CHANGES

  • Adjusted the duration of Deathstroke’s Suicide Strike to align more closely with other characters.
