NetherRealm Studios and WB Games have just dropped the official gameplay trailer for T-1000, the iconic liquid metal assassin from the Terminator series, set to make his chilling debut in Mortal Kombat 1 next Tuesday. This character brings a fresh twist to the roster, using his unique ability to transform into liquid metal to creatively dodge projectiles. Fans of Kabal will find T-1000 particularly appealing, as this new fighter incorporates some of Kabal's signature weapons and moves, despite Kabal himself not being part of the game.
The trailer pays homage to the legendary film "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" with several iconic references. One such moment recreates the famous scene where T-1000 wags his finger—a gesture famously banned in the NBA for being unsportsmanlike. Additionally, T-1000 interacts with Johnny Cage, inquiring about John Connor's whereabouts, further bridging the game to the film's universe.
Alongside T-1000, the trailer introduced Madam Bo, another exciting addition to the Mortal Kombat 1 lineup. T-1000's Fatality is a spectacle of his liquid metal capabilities, as he shifts his form and replaces his victim, efficiently fulfilling his mission in true Terminator fashion.
No further announcements have been made by WB Games. However, rumors are swirling that this might be the final wave of new content for Mortal Kombat 1, with speculation pointing towards a potential announcement for a new game on the horizon. Yet, these remain unconfirmed speculations at this point.
