Torchlight: Infinite's next chapter, Season 8: Sandlord, is set to launch on April 17th, promising a significant overhaul to the game. This season introduces the captivating Cloud Oasis, featuring innovative economic gameplay mechanics. Players will engage in trading resources, managing workers, and overseeing production lines to establish their own aerial strongholds, marking a shift from traditional monster grinding to empire-building in the skies.
Thea makes a comeback with a new twist in Season 8. Her Blasphemer trait swaps her divine abilities for a curse named Desecration. Initially weak, this curse scales powerfully, enhancing Erosion damage based on the depletion of her blessing power. This mechanic opens up exciting build possibilities, from area-of-effect explosions to health-scaling effects, ideal for players who enjoy damage-over-time and synergy-rich setups.
Endgame content receives a substantial update as well. Deep Space has been completely revamped, featuring five new stages, expanded maps, and more challenging enemies. A new system called Probes allows players to adjust the risk and reward dynamics, potentially leading to better loot, including Compass chests obtained through the Compass Probe.
Season 8 also introduces a Blending System for belt crafting, enabling the fusion of Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into a single item slot. This system provides deeper customization options for player builds. Additionally, a formidable new boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, joins the roster and can be encountered on the 20th floor of the Supreme Showdown and in Plane Watcher.
Coinciding with the season launch, the Sands of Fortune anniversary event will run from April 17th to May 1st. Participants can complete tasks to earn Gold Rush Attempts and vie for a share of a $250,000 prize pool.
