According to an insider known as fraxiswinning, Ubisoft is set to unveil Rainbow Six Siege 2 at the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled at the MGM Music Hall from February 14-16. The project, codenamed Siege X, is said to feature an updated engine with enhanced graphics, including revamped textures and models. Notably, Ubisoft may not bring back the temporary events from the original game, instead focusing on introducing new events. The anticipated release is slated for the second season of the tenth year of support, around mid-2025.
Previously, Alexander Karpazis, the creative director of Rainbow Six Siege, expressed that a full sequel was unnecessary due to the ongoing development of the current version. However, if this leak holds true, it suggests Ubisoft might have reconsidered their stance. As always, such rumors should be approached with caution, and without an official statement from Ubisoft, it remains speculative.
The Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, Six Invitational 2025, is on the horizon, set to take place in Boston. Twenty teams will vie for a share of the $3,000,000 prize pool and the championship title. Oxygen Esports, having triumphed in the North American Last Chance Qualifier, has secured the final qualifying spot.
The tournament featuring twenty teams is unusual, yet Ubisoft is likely to maintain a format similar to last year—four groups engaging in a round-robin with five teams each, followed by a Double Elimination playoffs. However, an innovative format could be introduced. The winner of each group will skip the first round, fourth-placed teams will start in the lower bracket, the rest will enter the upper bracket of the playoffs, and the last-placed team from each group will be eliminated.
