Ubisoft is setting the sails for an expansive Year 2 for Skull and Bones, aiming to make it the most thrilling period yet for this pirate-themed multiplayer game. The company unveiled a robust lineup of new content, including innovative game modes, new ships, the legendary Kraken, and a long-awaited feature: land combat.
During a dedicated Year 2 showcase streamed yesterday, Ubisoft revealed a treasure trove of upcoming updates. The highlight of the presentation was undoubtedly Season 3: Guts and Glory, scheduled for this fall, which introduces the much-anticipated land combat. This feature will allow players to engage in swordfights and use firearms on land, expanding the gameplay beyond the seas. As part of the Rogue Warlord additions in Season 3, players will explore sandy beaches and damp caves to rescue skilled Officers. A teaser video offered a glimpse into this exciting feature, though fans will need to wait until later this year to experience it fully.
While land combat is the standout addition for Skull and Bones Year 2, the roadmap is brimming with other exciting updates. Season 1, Ascent into Chaos, kicks off today, April 15, introducing a loot-enhancing item ascension feature, challenging World Tiers, a new Schooner medium ship, and the team-based Death Tides PvP mode. Season 2: Oaths of War, set for summer 2025, will feature Megaforts and the formidable Frigate large ships. Season 4: Eye of the Beast, launching this winter, promises encounters with the Kraken, the Hunter’s Guild, and the Corvette large ship.
For those eager to jump into the pirate life, Ubisoft is offering a free weekend from April 17 – 21, allowing players to experience the PvP action firsthand. Additionally, the game will be available at a discounted price during this period, though specific details on the discount have yet to be disclosed.
