Mastering the Hermit Quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: A Comprehensive Guide
Unlocking this quest requires progressing through blacksmith Radovan's questline in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. After recovering the lost cart, report back to Radovan. He'll then task you with forging a wedding gift, initiating the Hermit quest. Before confronting the hermit, however, you must gather information from the villagers of Troskowitz.
Gathering Information:
Begin at the Troskowitz tavern. Speak with Innkeeper Betty, exhausting all dialogue options. Then, converse with other villagers (such as the alehouse maid or trader) to gather additional clues.
Next, interview Gerda (who witnessed an apparition) and Stanislav in Apollonia. Persuasion checks or a small payment will yield the necessary information.
Gathering Evidence:
With the information obtained, locate the grave Gerda described, using a spade (purchased or found in nearby cemeteries). Digging reveals Groschen and documents related to the Knights of the Cross.
Examine these documents. Then, proceed to the quest marker in Apollonia, where you'll find a hut and a black horse. Inspecting the horse provides the final clue needed to confront the hermit.
Confronting the Hermit:
Approach the hermit's hut. Presenting the gathered evidence is crucial for initiating a conversation. During dialogue, select options like "You're suspicious" and "Out with it!" to uncover the hermit's true identity: Konrad.
Konrad requests you deliver a cross to a widow named Margaret, starting the optional "Sinful Soul" quest. You can complete this immediately or return to Konrad afterward.
Choosing Your Path:
Upon returning to the hut, you'll encounter Crusaders. You must decide whether to aid the Crusaders in killing Konrad or help him escape.
If choosing to help Konrad, approach his hut stealthily. After completing the quest requirements, inquire about the sword's location.
Alternatively, killing Konrad (easier than facing the Crusaders) allows you to retrieve the sword and then deal with the Crusaders, offering the recovered documents for a reward.
Retrieving the Sword:
