Mastering the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies Staff of Ice Upgrade

Prerequisites:
Before upgrading, you need the Staff of Ice itself. Obtain it from the Mystery Box or by collecting its three components. Early access to the Dark Aether Nexus (via the Door to Nowhere) is crucial.
Upgrade Steps:
Step 1: Freezing Dark Aether Crystals
Freeze three Dark Aether Crystals rapidly using the Staff of Ice. These crystals are within underground Dark Aether lanterns (black frame, purple fire). Perks like Stamin-Up and PHD Flopper (with Tribologist) significantly aid speed. Optimize your route—starting in the tomb area, then the Shrine of the Hierophants, and finally the Subterranean Temple entrance lantern is recommended. Archibald's quote confirms success. Enter the Dark Aether Nexus afterward.
Step 2: Targeting Floating Runes
Within the Dark Aether Nexus, locate three floating rocks with glowing purple Runes. Shoot each Rune with the Staff of Ice (a hitmarker confirms success). This lowers the rocks, improving visibility. A sniper rifle might assist aiming. The order is inconsequential; hit all three.
Step 3: The Rune Symbol Puzzle
A stone wall replaces a portal in the Dark Aether Nexus. Return to the corresponding map area. Locate a wall with Runic icons; three match the symbols from the floating rocks. Shoot these three with the Staff of Ice. The portal will open (regardless of accuracy). Incorrect symbols teleport you back to the Nexus mid-air; try again later. Correct symbols place you on a floating rock with a purple orb. Interact with it.
Step 4: Orb Escort
The Orb moves; follow it, killing zombies nearby. Killed zombies' essence fuels the Orb. Keep it moving towards the central Dark Aether Nexus structure. Once settled, a purple portal appears. Interact to upgrade the Staff of Ice to Ull's Arrow.
