The public test server for *Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2* is now live, offering an early glimpse at Update 7.0. While these preliminary patch notes cover most features, Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive note the final version may differ due to ongoing bug fixes.
This PC-exclusive PTS (not available on console) delivers a substantial update. Key additions include a new PvE mission, "Exfiltration," a potent new secondary weapon—the Inferno Pistol—for Vanguard, Sniper, and Heavy classes; endgame prestige ranks in PvE; and the highly anticipated private PvP lobbies.
Customization options receive a significant boost, with new colors (Volupus Pink and Thousand Sons Blue), Bulwark cloth and hand recoloring, and a 50% increase in PvP customization rewards. New Champion skins also arrive: an Imperial Fists skin for the Tactical class and a Space Wolves skin for the Vanguard class.
Balance changes are extensive, notably the expanded PvE weapon arsenal. All classes now enjoy a wider weapon selection; a particularly welcome change for Assault class players who can finally wield the Power Sword without modifications. A significant quality-of-life improvement addresses a persistent griefing issue in the Inferno Operation. Players reaching the final assembly area will now automatically teleport lagging teammates after a short delay (a notification appears at 1:30, with teleportation occurring 15 seconds later).
Following recent teases of the upcoming Horde mode and the developers' response to community concerns regarding live service elements and content updates, Update 7.0 represents a significant step forward.
