Warner Bros. Announces The Shutdown Of Mortal Kombat: Onslaught Just One Year After Its Launch

Warner Bros. Games is shutting down its mobile title, Mortal Kombat: Onslaught, less than a year after its launch. The game was removed from the Google Play Store and App Store on July 22nd, 2024. In-app purchases will be disabled on August 23rd, 2024, with servers officially going offline October 21st, 2024.

The reasons for the closure remain unannounced, although NetherRealm's recent shuttering of its mobile games division (responsible for Mortal Kombat Mobile and Injustice) suggests a potential shift in company strategy.

Refunds for In-Game Purchases:

Players who made in-game purchases are awaiting clarification on refunds for in-game currency and items. NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. have promised further details soon, encouraging users to monitor their official X (formerly Twitter) account for updates.

This action-adventure RPG blended intense combat with a cinematic storyline, reminiscent of free-to-play mobile MOBAs. The narrative centered on Raiden and a player-assembled team thwarting Shinnok's attempt to regain his power.
