Hot on the heels of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo has just released another thrilling entry in the musou genre: Warriors: Abyss. This new roguelite game brings the iconic characters from the Warriors series into a fresh and exciting gameplay experience, available starting today.
Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss introduces an isometric camera perspective that fans might find reminiscent of games like Diablo and Hades. The game challenges players to assemble a squad of characters to battle through the forces of "hell," facing off against demonic enemies along the way. Familiar faces such as Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sunshang Xiang were featured in the latest footage, bringing the Warriors universe to life in a new and thrilling context.
According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit characters over time, adding them to their team and unlocking additional summoning actions. You can deploy up to seven active heroes in battle, with a pool of 100 warriors available at launch today. Koei Tecmo has plans to expand the roster with new characters, starting with those from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. The developer hinted at future additions, suggesting that characters from outside the Warriors series might also join the fray.
Warriors: Abyss is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. It's set to arrive on Nintendo Switch on February 13, 2025. For those eager to enhance their gameplay, an in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set is available for purchase until March 14, 2025.
