Conquer the Lifer: A Wuthering Waves 2.0 Guide

Wuthering Waves version 2.0's Rinascita region introduces challenging new Tacet Discords, including the formidable Lifer—a uniquely buffed Chop Chop residing in Oakheart Highcourt's maze. This guide details how to overcome this challenging encounter.

Locating the Lifer

The Lifer awaits at Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a giant tree. An accessible entrance lies southwest, near the Resonance Beacon. Players can climb or utilize the Flight function to reach it.

The Lifer's Board Game Challenge

Inside, players find the Lifer beside a six-piece board game. The goal is to connect three pieces before the Lifer does. Winning isn't necessary for the fight, but crucial for buff removal. Winning before removing buffs triggers immediate combat. The board game manipulates maze walls; placing a black piece on the outer circle opens walls in that direction. Piece positions are saved when exiting.

Neutralizing the Lifer's Buffs

The Lifer boasts seven buffs, four removable using the Stake of Imbalance. These buffs are visible on a yellow module behind the Lifer.

Removable Buffs:

  • Growing Loneliness: HP recovery after 2 seconds of no damage.
  • Desire for Escape: Increased ATK and escalating damage over time.
  • Impending Stalemate: Stacking ATK increase with each hit, resetting after 6 seconds of no damage.
  • Decay of Time: Significant elemental resistance and increased Max HP.

Permanent Buffs:

  • Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
  • Endless Game: Reduced Immobilization duration.
  • Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after taking significant damage.

To obtain the Stakes of Imbalance, use the Sensor near the Lifer to reveal four purple lines leading to outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open the corresponding gates. Each room holds a Stake, marked by a white glow; some require Tacet Discord defeats or Friable Rock destruction. Place each Stake in the module near the room's winged statue to remove a buff. Purple lines turn yellow upon successful buff removal.

Conquering the Lifer

With all four removable buffs gone, the Lifer's difficulty significantly drops. Initiate the battle by winning the board game or selecting "Fight it out!". The Lifer's attacks pose minimal threat.

First victory yields a Premium Supply Chest. Second victory adds another Premium Supply Chest and three Basic Supply Chests. A third grants an Advanced Supply Chest and three Standard Supply Chests. Buffs can be re-enabled for a harder fight, though no achievements are tied to this.

Achievements

  • The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
  • The Ring of The Lifer: Defeat the Lifer three times for all chests.
  • Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game against the Lifer.
  • Alpha Go: Lose the board game against the Lifer 10 times.

For the board game, focus on blocking the Lifer's winning moves. Its impatience will lead to mistakes.
