Xbox Developer Direct 2025: A Sneak Peek at Upcoming Titles
Microsoft has unveiled the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct: January 23rd. This marks the third annual installment of the showcase, kicking off the 2025 gaming year for Xbox. Following the successful 2023 and 2024 events, this January broadcast promises another exciting lineup.
The event, scheduled for 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT, will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch. While initially rumored for January 9th, the official announcement confirms the January 23rd date.
Confirmed Games:
Microsoft has already confirmed three titles for the Xbox Developer Direct 2025:
- South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (creators of Contrast and We Happy Few), originally announced in June 2023. A release date is anticipated.
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, targeting a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
- Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, initially revealed in June 2024 and playable at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 launch is rumored.
Beyond the Confirmed:
While these three games are highlighted, previous Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and showcased multiple titles. The 2024 event featured Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Expect the 2025 event to follow suit, possibly including unannounced surprises.
