Tarneeb is a card game played by two teams, each consisting of two players sitting opposite each other. The game uses a standard 52-card deck, and play proceeds counter-clockwise. Each player bids on the number of "Allmat" (tricks) their team expects to win in a round.
The player who wins the bid declares "Tarneeb" and throws down a card. Other players must then throw down cards of the same type. The player who throws the highest-ranking card wins the trick. Tarneeb cards are the most powerful. The round ends when all players have played their cards.
Points are scored as follows:
- Successful Bid: If a team achieves or exceeds their bid, they add the number of Allmat (tricks) won to their score. The opposing team receives no points.
- Unsuccessful Bid: If a team fails to meet their bid, the number of Allmat won by the opposing team is added to their score, and the bidding team loses points.
A special condition exists for bidding 13 tricks ("WIG 13"):
- Successful WIG 13: If a team bids and wins 13 tricks, they receive 26 points.
- Unsuccessful WIG 13: If a team bids for 13 tricks and fails, they lose 16 points.
If neither team bids 13 tricks and one team wins 13, they receive 16 points.
The game concludes when one team reaches a total score of 41 or more points. That team is declared the winner.
