*Build Defense* is a thrilling *Roblox* game that challenges players to construct a base using blocks while fending off threats like monster attacks, tornados, bombs, and even alien invasions. At a glance, it might remind you of *Minecraft* with an added twist, but it's more akin to the original *Fortnite*—remember that classic? Whether you're inspired by one game or another, *Build Defense* offers loads of fun alongside a steep learning curve. That's why we've put together this Beginner's Guide to help you navigate and enjoy the game more effectively.

Build Defense Beginner's Guide

------------------------------

Below, we'll highlight essential tips that we wish we knew when we started playing. Implementing these strategies can significantly enhance your gameplay experience and accelerate your progress.

The object of the game is to survive…

When you're first dropped into your world and onto your plot of land, you might think the goal is to keep your plot secure. Not quite! **The primary objective is to survive, or simply put, not to die.** The game will throw various hazards at you, and it's your job to overcome them. Ideally, **you'll do this from your plot by constructing a defensive structure**, but if needed, **you can also roam around the world until the threat passes**—a tactic that has proven effective. **Each time you survive, you earn a "Win"** and some in-game currency. **Accumulating Wins is key to progressing in the game.** So, keep an eye on screen messages and focus on staying alive.

… dying is completely normal

**Don't fret over dying.** It's a common occurrence, and the consequences are minimal. Upon death, you'll respawn immediately, lose your items, and fail the current wave, but these setbacks are manageable. **You have the option to repurchase your weapons and items**, and fortunately, **monsters and disasters can't destroy your structures**. Another wave of attacks arrives every two minutes, giving you another shot at survival. Essentially, **you're only losing a few minutes of your time**, which isn't a big deal.

Build high, not low

Initially, we thought surrounding our plot with a wall would suffice, but it wasn't very effective. The need for entry and exit points created vulnerabilities that monsters exploited. A more effective strategy is to **construct a towering staircase and a platform at the top**. When night falls, ascend to your safe haven and wait it out. Most monsters will fall trying to climb the steep stairs, and any that reach the top can be met with **a barrage of turrets**. This setup should carry you through most nights safely.

Don’t just build, explore!

There's a lot more to do on the island than just managing your plot. You can interact with neighbors (other players), trade your ores, and **embark on quests**. Most quests require a certain number of Wins to unlock, but some, like **the Gingerbread's House quest**, are available from the start. Completing these quests is beneficial as they can unlock exciting new building components.

The “Shop” isn’t just for premium items

As you advance in the game, don't overlook the Shop. **Most items there can be purchased with in-game currency**. You'll need to accumulate several Wins before diving into the Shop, so be sure to play the game a bit first. Also, remember to join the Swiftplay Roblox group and to like, favorite, and follow the game to receive a free gift.

When you’re ready, move to the next area

Once you've earned enough Wins (190), you can transition to the next area and restart the cycle. You'll encounter new disasters, quests, and building opportunities.

**That's the gist of it. Enjoy surviving and building in *Build Defense*. Don't forget to check out our *Build Defense* codes for some cool in-game freebies.**
