According to Kim, players will have the unique ability to control ghosts, though this feature will be limited to ensure it complements rather than overshadows the core gameplay experience. This ghost mechanic is intricately linked to a karma system, which meticulously tracks the actions of characters and influences their future lives in distinct ways. Remarkably, this influence extends beyond death, impacting their existence in the afterlife.

The karma system plays a crucial role in determining a character's fate after death. Depending on their deeds, characters may either transition peacefully into the afterlife or be condemned to wander as ghosts among the living. For these spectral entities to finally depart from the mortal realm, they must accumulate the necessary karma points.
In the early access version of InZOI, ghosts will be present, but players will not be able to control them—control will be introduced in a later update. The developers have emphasized that InZOI is fundamentally a game centered on real life, so paranormal elements will be kept subtle. However, Game Director Kim has hinted at the possibility of other unexplained phenomena being added to InZOI in future updates, adding an extra layer of mystery and intrigue to the gameplay.
