In today's crowded gaming landscape, finding a truly unique experience can be a challenge. My Father Lied, a mystery/Lovecraftian puzzle adventure, stands out with its compelling narrative.
My Father Lied: An Indie Developer's Vision
The game's creation story is as captivating as the game itself. Ahmed Alameen, the developer, initially pursued writing and filmmaking. A college collaboration idea sparked the game's concept, but the initial team dissolved. Undeterred, Alameen embarked on a solo journey, teaching himself 3D modeling and Unreal Engine to bring his vision to life. Even the game's title was a collaborative effort with his wife.
Unraveling the Mystery: My Father Lied's Story
My Father Lied plunges players into a captivating mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian myths, secrets, puzzles, and surprises. Players step into the shoes of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: what happened to her father? The answer, as the story unfolds, is far from simple.
Drawing inspiration from 7,000 years of Mesopotamian culture, the game blends ancient lore with modern storytelling. The gameplay is straightforward, featuring simple point-and-click mechanics, beautiful 2D visuals, and immersive 360-degree images.
